REGISTER NOW for 2010-11

Stratford Rotary Hockey recently took over the operation of the house league age groups previously run by Stratford Minor Hockey: major bantam, midget and juvenile ages.

Below you will find two registration forms - one for elementary age players (4 through 13) and another for those in the older age groups.

Download the appropriate form, fill out and send WITH YOUR CHEQUE(S) to P.O. Box 21056, Stratford, Ont., N5A 7V4. Or drop off at 103 Lightbourne Ave., Stratford.

** A late fee of $25 now applies to all registrations. **

HST and Rotary Hockey

How the HST affects Rotary Hockey

Ontario's Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) came into effect July 1, 2010. It adds the 8 per cent provincial sales tax to the federal government's 5 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Included under the tax are arena ice rental fees. This will add an additional $14,000 to $15,000 expense for Stratford Rotary Hockey beginning next season.

Registration fees for all players have been raised by $20 for 2010-11, solely to cover the additional expense created by the HST. Other costs are also going up, but Rotary Hockey felt it was unfair to families to increase fees by more than $20.

GOLD FOR EMILY!

Emily Fulton Rotary Hockey congratulates one of our former players, Emily Fulton of Stratford, for winning a gold medal  with Canada's Under-18 women's hockey team.

Emily had four assists at the IIHF world U18 championships in Chicago, which Canada won with a 5-4 overtime victory over the United States in the gold-medal game April 3.
